Overview

Marrakech is the 4th largest city in Morocco, with over 1,000,000 inhabitants. Strategically placed at midway between the Atlantic ocean and the Saharan desert, shielded by the High Atlas mountains, Marrakech is the natural center and capital of southern Morocco.

Marrakech is, like every big moroccan city, made of two parts: medina (the old town) and ville nouvelle (lit. new town, in French).

Marrakech is a city that shouldn't be missed at all costs — a real jewel. Its rich, colorful and incredible medina with all sorts of shops, winding streets and charming riads will leave you speechless. The city is home to some of the most beautiful monuments in the whole of Morocco: the Jemaa-el-fna square, the Koutubia mosque with its minaret, the palaces, gardens and palmeraies... it is just unforgettable.
